That’s when Durango Connect, Take 2, will occur.
Durango Connect debuted Sept. 27 last year, with organizers attempting to gather enough people to make a hand-in-hand chain along the seven miles of the Animas River Trail. That occasion was to celebrate the 2012 official connection of a paved trail that took decades to construct.
Event organizers assure in a news release that those who volunteered, sponsored or otherwise supported last year’s event soon will be contacted to help again. “Resistance is futile,” says the release, emailed by organizer Jack Turner.
Last year’s event brought together an estimated 9,000 participants, an impressive number, but not enough to complete the chain.
More information and the documentary film of last year’s event is available at www. DurangoConnect.com.
