It does not take special training to identify what is found in a barnyard and know it ain’t chocolate cake. It does not take special training to know that when Trump speaks, what comes out of his mouth ain’t chocolate cake. For as long as people have been paying attention to such things, never in the history of our country has there ever been a president who simply cannot tell the truth or take responsibility for … anything.

And in this case, while many of his followers feel that the word “unprecedented” as it applies to his words and deeds is some badge of honor, what exactly is there to praise?

The total lack of humility he displays when given the power of the presidency, as if humility were some sign of weakness, not a sign of conscientious responsibility?

The inability to rise above pettiness?The compulsion to vilify anyone who does not take a knee?The addiction to retaliation and revenge, despite the consequences, because consequences don’t matter?The deep, depraved satisfaction that comes from hurting the vulnerable?The unquenchable need for having your name put on as many things as possible and build monuments to yourself?Social media posts on Christmas wishing his enemies: “Rot in hell!”

These are proven Trump behaviors. These are things to be proud of?

Where are those elected and non-elected Republicans who should be speaking out about these travesties? Their silence is acceptance. In fear, with no shame, they wear the complicity shroud well.
