The owner managed to pull him off of me. It was a terrifying experience. I had to have stitches and shots. If that dog hadn’t been on a leash, my dog would have been killed and possibly me as well. I think that since the pit bull couldn’t get to my dog, out of frustration, he attacked me. My husband told the owner if he ever saw that dog again, he would shoot it. And believe me, he would. The dog is now gone. In 2014, there were 27 fatal pit bull maulings and four fatal Rottweiler maulings. Pit bulls are bred to fight. Many countries worldwide ban ownership of this breed or require a special license to own one. It appears that people who defend the behavior of pit bulls are the owners. These dogs love their owners but will attack others.
