Ignacio quarterback Zach Weinreich (11) follows a batch of blockers while looking for running room last Friday against 2A Montezuma-Cortez at IHS Field. The Bobcats came as close as 12-8 at halftime and 18-14 with 9:15 remaining in the game, but came up short of their first win in 2015 in falling 26-14 against MCHS. Freshman Lawrence Valdez, via Weinreich's arm, and senior Tyler Beebe scored Friday's touchdowns. Now 0-4 overall, Ignacio wraps up its Homecoming week by starting 1A Southern Peaks Conference play at 7 p.m. tonight against Walsenburg John Mall. The Panthers stand 2-2 overall-most recently 47-0 winners over 1A Pueblo Dolores Huerta Prep. The Panthers will hope to avenge their own Homecoming loss to the 'Cats last fall.
