Mountain Middle School students, Skyler Purcell, 12, left, and Madison McGaughey, 12, practice their ice dancing moves Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023, at the Chapman Hill Ice Rink. The two are part of a student interest group class, where every quarter students get to choose their interest. Sixth grade humanities teacher Amanda Evans offered the ice skating class, and 60 students signed up for it. Students are split into two groups and get to go to the ice rink twice a week.
