The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reports (https://goo.gl/ilHUZv ) 31-year-old Matthew Ogden was sentenced Friday for the June 20, 2015, death of Sarah Ogden, who had a bruised liver and a fractured skull.

Ogden’s wife, Phyllis “Amy” Wyatt, told investigators Ogden shook the infant to try to stop her crying and then took her to another room. She said she heard pounding or thumping noises coming from that room but didn’t intervene.

Wyatt was sentenced to eight years for fatal child abuse through negligence for not intervening when she heard the noises.

Ogden’s attorney said Friday that Wyatt has since said she didn’t see Ogden shake Sarah and mistook the thumping noises for a video game.
