Registration is open for the 20th annual Pueblo to Pueblo Run/Bike event April 26 in Cortez.

This year’s event features a half-marathon run, a 5-kilometer run/walk and a 50-mile bike event.

The Pueblo to Pueblo Run symbolizes ancient and historical runs between communities.

The Cortez Cultural Center also seeks health-conscious organizations for event sponsors.

Trails 2000 seeks grant for Chapman Hill work

Trails 2000 has been announced as a finalist for Chapman Hill Bike Park Project in Durango for the 2014 Bell Built Grant, which awards $100,000 to three trail-building projects across the United States.

Regional grant winners will be selected by public vote from April 21 to May 4. The winner in each region (Durango is in the Central Region) will be based solely on the number of votes.

Plans for the bike park at Chapman include flow trails and improving existing multiuse trails. A pump track aims to accommodate all ages and skill levels.

Seniors Outdoors announces events

Seniors Outdoors will host these events:

A moderate-paced hike through badlands at Lybrook, N.M., is planned for Tuesday. Participants should expect no trails, some scrambling, unique landforms, a few hoodoos and no water. Dogs are not allowed. To RSVP, call Travis Ward at 247-1310 or email [email protected].

Intermediate and advanced mountain bikers should email KT Howard at [email protected] to have their name added to a list for informal bike rides. Moderate to hard rides will be planned.
