Seniors Outdoors will host these events:

On Friday a group will hike the switchbacks up the Goulding Creek Trail, follow the ridge south on the Pinkerton Flagstaff Trail and descend on the Jones Creek Trail to Hermosa Creek. To RSVP, call Sherry Suenram at 259-5259 or email [email protected].

Sunday will be an opportunity to view natural bridges in Caballo, Crow and Pump canyons near Aztec. There will be many short and easy walks. High-clearance vehicles are preferred. Dogs are not allowed. To RSVP, call Bob Powell at 385-8949 or email [email protected].

A hike on Prater Ridge is planned for Monday. Starting in the Morefield Campground in Mesa Verde National Park, a group will hike to the top of the ridge and follow the North and South Loop trails. Dogs are not allowed. To RSVP, call Dorothy Bregar at 385-1814 or email [email protected].

The Monday Durango Area Bike Ride will begin at Home Depot. Helmets and gloves are required. For more information, call Jim Newman at 884-7717 or email [email protected].

The Wednesday Wanders Hike will be the Chris Park/Miners Trace Loop. Participants should bring water. Poles are encouraged. Dogs are not allowed. Nonmembers should RSVP to Dorothy Bregar at 385-1814 or email [email protected].

On Thursday, there will be a challenging hike along the ridge that connects the Southern San Juan Mountains to the La Plata Mountains, starting on the Indian Trail Ridge from Kennebec Pass and continuing to the Bear Creek Trail Intersect. Durango Natures Studies announces upcoming events

Durango Nature Studies announces these programs:

The Durango Nature Center is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays through Oct. 25. The center is free for members and children 12 and younger and $5 for nonmembers.

A tracking and wilderness skills workshop will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the center. The workshop is free for members and $10 for nonmembers.

A new moon Astro-Tour will take place at 9 p.m. May 30 at the center. The program is free for members and $10 for nonmembers.

Registration is open for summer day camps. Camps are available for kids in kindergarten to fifth grade.
