With water restrictions arriving early this year, and given that we live in a high desert, one has to wonder why there is so much completely unused, lush green grass in Bodo Industrial Park.
Acres of lawn outside businesses and along roadways could be converted to low-water or no-water native landscaping. Such landscaping would likely look better, require less maintenance, cost less and, most importantly, save significant amounts of water.
That water could be directed toward actively used turf in city parks and other public spaces where it provides a greater community benefit.
