Bayfield ranked 3rd going into state

The Bayfield girls won regional competition again on Nov. 1 at the BHS gymnasium, defeating Grand Valley three games to one to win the Region 3 title. The girls now journey to state competition Friday and Saturday in the Denver Coliseum. Bayfield is the third-highest ranked 3A team going into the state tourney, behind state champions Eaton and second-ranked Valley High School of Gilchrest, near Greeley. <br><br>The Bayfield girls start pool play Friday morning against Pagosa Springs, followed later that day with a match against Manitou Springs. The winner of pool play from those three teams will advance into semifinal play Saturday. There are four pools of play starting on Friday, with three teams in each pool for a total of 12 schools.
