Pine River Library card holders can download audio books and ebooks for free to the device of your choice. Card holders can borrow popular digital media anytime through the Overdrive App.
Learn about this at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 17, at the library. In “Intro to Overdrive,” participants will learn about Overdrive, including downloading the app and creating an account. If desired, participants can bring their own computer or device to set up their account.
Then learn more about Overdrive on Tuesday, Feb. 23, at 6 p.m. With “Overdrive Tips and Tricks,” participants will learn how to use the app to its fullest potential.
With Overdrive, library card holders will be able to borrow/ download books via the library web site, www.prlibrary.org. All titles automatically expire at the end of the lending period. There are no late fees. For more information, call the library at 884-2222, ext. 510.
Youth foundation selling pastries
Be FRANK, (For the Recreational and Artistic Needs of Kids), is selling Butterbraids for $12. Orders are due at 5 p.m . Friday, Feb. 26.
The frozen pastries will be delivered on March 3.
Orders can be placed with Be FRANK members or at the Pine River Times office at 110 E. Mill St.

DU offering information on grad degree
The University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work- Four Corners Program is accepting applications for the two-year master of social work degree taught in Durango, beginning in September, 2016. Students can obtain a two-year and advanced standing MSW with regional field internships across the Four Corners.

Teacher day is Monday at Purgatory
Teacher Appreciation Day is Monday at Purgatory resort. $20 from every lift ticket sold will be donated to the La Plata County Teacher Appreciation Fund. The fund provides Office Depot gift certificates directly to teachers in Durango, Bayfield, and Ignacio schools and charter schools in the county. Teachers can use the cards to purchase supplies for their classrooms and students. Last year, $10,000 was donated to the fund. All La Plata County K-12 staff, teachers, and administrators are invited to ski for $25 per lift ticket. There is also a special après ski celebration at 3 p.m. in Hoody’s. Teachers and staff may also purchase discounted lift tickets ($45 adults; $32 teens/seniors; and $25 kids/super seniors) for up to six family members or friends.

Local Democrats hosting debate for district attorney candidates
La Plata Democrats will moderate a debate between two candidates running to be the Democratic District Attorney nominee, Christian Champagne and Ben Lammons.
