I can say without hesitation, the days of throwing up a tent to provide reasonable services are over. We need a new airport.
Every time I fly, I have folks around me from Cortez, Pagosa and Farmington. We are the regional hub. I am especially amused by the writers who say they don’t want a new airport because they don’t want things to change. With all respect, that cow has left the barn, so you might as well get back on the covered wagon and keep moving.
Not everyone uses the airport, but I look at it like this: I don’t have kids, but I have never voted against a school tax. It’s good for the community, and we are in this together.
