I propose to the city of Durango and the members of the STEAM Park committee to move the wastewater treatment plant to a new location and make Whitewater park the New “STEAM Park.”

I noticed that the band’s music was aimed at the audience but that the mountain did a good job of absorbing the sound. I believe that Parkside Terrace residents would not be bothered by such “loud” music from such events here as well. The “new proposed site” is still close to town by bike, walk and bike path. The area across from Santa Rita Park made for good parking, raw city land that should be turned to “additional parking” anyhow.

The wastewater treatment facility really has outgrown its days at that location anyhow. I think the city of Durango should really take a hard look at this area for a new public-use facility. The shuttles from Four Corners River Sports were filled with “tourist” who drove in to see this event.

Durango is an event happening place; let’s keep it up!
