A crowd of a hundred or so bluegrass fans showed up for the inaugural Meltdown on the Mesa, a fundraiser for the Durango Bluegrass Meltdown, on Saturday at Ewing Mesa. Six local bluegrass bands were featured at the event, including Lost Souls with band member Marc Katz. Katz purchased the 1,850-acre tract of land south of Durango earlier in the year, and in April he announced plans to donate it for public use.
