I especially appreciate McLachlan’s understanding that we need to move into the energy economy of the future. He knows we have vast energy resources in Colorado – not just gas, but solar, wind and geothermal, too. His support of House Bill 252, which increased the renewable energy standard for rural electric cooperatives, demonstrates his commitment to developing all of our energy resources.

Requiring electric cooperatives to increase the percentage of renewable energy they provide, HB 252 ensures the continued development of abundant renewable energy, encouraging greater regional production that boosts our local economy and security. Clean energy not only fuels our economy, it is essential to mitigate the catastrophic impacts of climate change.

Mike McLachlan understands that in order to keep our economy strong and our air and water clean for future generations, we need representatives who lead us into the future. His opponent is more focused on keeping our state and our economy in the last century. Let’s move forward, not back.

I urge you to support Mike McLachlan and re-elect him when ballots are mailed in late October.
