Children and animals are the most effected by fluoride poisoning. Dr. Harvey Limeback, head of the Department of Preventative Dentistry for the University of Toronto, and president of the Canadian Association for Dental Research, states that “Children under three should never use fluoridated toothpaste, or drink fluoridated water. Baby formula must never be made up from fluoridated tap water.”

Sources of fluoride are everywhere, in our water, toothpaste, mouthwash, gels, dental procedures, pharmaceuticals, supplements and processed food. The problem with food is that as water evaporates, fluoride becomes more concentrated, more toxic.

Fluoride is responsible for a condition called dental fluorosis, which results in mottled teeth, and indicates a much bigger problem – skeletal fluorosis, routinely called arthritis, in which bones become brittle and break easily. Forty-one percent of children in the U.S. have dental fluorosis! Hundreds of recent research studies show an alarming number of detrimental effects of fluoride consumption on our health.

The city of Durango is starting to look into fluoride. A meeting of the Durango Utilities Commission will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 2 at the Public Library to discuss the question of adding fluoride to city water. Come participate in a process that may be the most important one ever for you and your family’s health. Check out these links and be prepared to defend your health rights. Let’s stop poisoning our children and our community.
