Mary Oswald of San Juan Hand Therapy in Durango, where crews came to film recently, said that the program will air at 5:30 p.m. Sunday on Al Jazeera America, a new network formerly known as Current.

The show is called “TechKNOW.” LaChappelle, 17, a senior at Mancos High School, is developing an affordable, robotic arm for amputees. He already has been featured on Nickelodeon as well as in feature stories in Popular Mechanics and Popular Science magazines.

In April, his invention earned him a handshake from President Barack Obama in the White House.

Crews filmed for more than six hours at the clinic about a month ago, Oswald said.
