For 10 years, I felt LPEA was really going to bat for us. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008, one year after finding my husband with a log across his back. Cancer is a devastating illness. I signed the opt-out form from LPEA, and soon after, a man came to install a smart meter.
He wouldn’t call it a smart meter when I asked him why he was at my address. He then made fun of me for not wanting to install it. I have called in my numbers for many years because of lack of access to my meter. To charge me for something that I believe is harmful to myself and my animals is infringing on my right to protect my health. LPEA has not done its homework. I will seek litigation.
