The local sports schedule is winding down, and at the same time, it is ramping up in the middle of April.
Up at Fort Lewis College, the spring sports schedule is winding down. Women’s lacrosse finished its season on Saturday, and the Skyhawks were winless. FLC hasn’t won a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference game since 2024. Softball has three series left over the next two weeks, but FLC is near the bottom of the RMAC, and the Skyhawks aren’t expected to make the RMAC tournament.
Local high school sports are ramping up toward the playoffs. Durango girls soccer, baseball and girls lacrosse are in great shape to make the playoffs and are playing for their seeding at the moment. Ignacio baseball has a chance to make the playoffs with less than a month left in the season.
Durango, Bayfield and Ignacio track and field will be represented at the state meet.
Before the postseason arrives, there are still high school games to be played this week. Durango has games to honor its seniors this weekend. Bayfield and Ignacio also have home games this week.
