All city of Durango administrative offices will be closed Monday in observance of Veterans Day and this is the schedule for other city programs:
City Hall, River City Hall, Parks and Recreation, and Cemetery administrative offices will be closed.
Durango Public Library and all its branches will be closed.
The Durango Community Recreation Center, Mason Center and Chapman Hill will all be open regular hours.
Commercial and residential trash and recycling will be picked up according to the normal schedule. Durango Recycling Center will be closed.
Durango Transit will run its regular schedule, and the parking window will be closed.
Downtown metered parking will be free.
Inner dynamics class to be held in Durango
The nonprofit Inner Peace Movement Programs will present an “Exploring Inner Dynamics Workshop” from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday in the Durango Joe’s backroom, 732 E. College Drive.
Participants should park in the back. Participants will clearly understand why they are on Earth, where they came from, and the reason they attracted the environment and people in their lives; discern the thoughts and feelings they pick up; raise their energy and aura to a 100 percent positive and realized vibration; experience pure soul-to-soul communication; and experience powerful healing energy and develop their own healing abilities. The cost is $35.

Rotary Club of Durango to meet Tuesday
Terry Hutchison of YESS The Book Hutch will present to the Rotary Club of Durango at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Strater Hotel, 699 Main Ave., about the efforts of this organization.
An accomplishment last May provided some students at the Fort Lewis Mesa Elementary School with backpacks filled with books and gifts. This effort was made possible from a grant by the Durango Area Association of Realtors, Mountains & Plains Independent Booksellers’ Assoc., Walmart, the Bank of the San Juan’s and YESS The Book Hutch. Visitors are welcome.

Genealogical society to meet Saturday
The Southwest Colorado Genealogical Society will meet at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at the La Plata County Historical Society’s Animas Museum, 3065 West Second Ave.
After the brief business meeting and election of officers for 2014, military historian Gary Knight will give a presentation “Revolt Against the Confederacy.” Knight will share a little-known aspect of the Civil War: Southerners revolting against the Confederacy. He will relate how his own family was part of this it.
