A bird walk will be hosted by the Weminuche Audubon Society at 9 a.m. Wednesday at For the Birds, 1560 East Second Ave.
The walks last about one hour and 15 minutes. Bring binoculars. The walks are free, but donations to the hosting group are welcome.

Southwest Studies to host gala Dec. 7
The Center of Southwest Studies at Fort Lewis College will host the “Black Boots, Black Bolo Holiday Gala” at 7 p.m. Dec. 7.
The gala will feature food, drinks, a silent auction and a performance by Ballet Folklorico. Tickets are $45, $20 of which can be considered a tax deductible contribution. Co-sponsors include Toh-Atin Gallery, Sorrell Sky Gallery and A Shared Blanket.

Natural Foods to host bazaar Dec. 8
Durango Natural Foods Co-op will host its holiday tasting, crafts fair and bazaar from 4 to 6 p.m. Dec. 8 at 575 East Eighth Ave.
Participants are invited to bring a 3 foot-by-3 foot table to show their wares and potential gifts in the store. Jewelry, art, natural body products, ornaments, jams, cookies or anything else. RSVP is needed. Walk-in sellers will be permitted as space allows. The co-op will be sampling its deli holiday dishes, organic eggnog and other items.

Navajo park to host open house
Navajo State Park, on the Colorado side of the reservoir, will host a holiday open house from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Visitors Center.
Everyone is invited. Refreshments will be provided and all bookstore items will be discounted 15 percent for the day. Some selected items are on sale for as much as 40 percent off. Participants will get to visit with staff members and also get to learn about the improvement projects planned for Navajo State Park during the next year.
