Barbara Tobin Klema will teach the scientific method of plant identification in an eight-week course from 8 to 11 a.m. every Wednesday through March 19 at the Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave.
Participants will use art to produce realistic botanical illustrations that are popular now.

Girl Scout cookies to go on sale Sunday
Girl Scout cookies will go on sale Sunday through March 2, with booth sales in front of retail locations starting Feb. 7.
The cookies cost $4 per package and all money supports girls in Girl Scouts of Colorado.

Habitat for Humanity of La Plata County is looking to fill several volunteer positions at its ReStore.
