Bird club hosts bird walk on Wednesday
A bird walk will be hosted by Durango Bird Club at 9 a.m. Wednesday at For the Birds, 1560 East Second Ave.
The walks last about one hour and 15 minutes. Bring binoculars. The walks are free, but donations to the hosting group are welcome.

Watershed groups to meet Thursday
The Animas Watershed Partnership and the San Juan Watershed Group will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Farmington Civic Center, 200 W. Arrington.
All are welcome. Participants will learn about the Four Corners Paddle Trail Project, and a new Animas River Water Quality Sampling and Planning Effort. Refreshments will be served.

Bike to Work Day to be held Friday
The city of Durango Multi Modal will celebrate Winter Bike to Work Day from 7 to 9 a.m. Friday in front of Durango Coffee Company, 730 Main Ave.
This fourth annual event is held in a heated tent for commuters to warm up, drink free coffee and tea, snack on free breakfast items and receive a free micro-tune. Raffles, giveaways and goodies will be available to participants.
New this year is the Way to Go! Club. This program promotes and rewards people who choose to use sustainable transportation on an ongoing basis. The free to join program offers members many benefits similar to an airline point’s rewards program; the more trips a member takes using sustainable transportation, the more rewards will be earned.

Southern Ute museum announces events
The Southern Ute Cultural Center & Museum will be closed for training from Monday to Friday.
The public is invited to visit the museum on Saturday for a free admission day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. On March 2, the museum will host Walter Echo-Hawk for the first in a series of free Native American Scholarly symposiums from 1 to 4 p.m.
