Suzanne Arms, author, teacher, speaker and founder of nonprofit group Birthing The Future, will host an ongoing sacred circle for women to safely share their feelings, address birth-related trauma, and learn new information about brain development and bonding.
The circle will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. every Wednesday in the Smiley Building, Room 103, 1309 East Third Ave. The cost is a sliding scale: $8-15 per session. Infants-in-arms are welcome. In the group, women of all ages will find confidence to trust their inner knowing and also learn practical skills for meeting the needs of a developing baby based on current research on bonding, brain development and health.
The group is “drop-in” and designed for pre-pregnant and pregnant women, new mothers, as well as women who have experienced trauma in birth, and those who struggle with guilt, anxiety, anger or depression.
It is also for women planning to adopt a baby and grandmothers caring for a grandbaby. Different topics will be addressed each week according to the needs of those present.
