The Colorado Department of Transportation is in the process of upgrading signal cabinets on U.S. Highway 160 (Main Street), U.S. Highway 491 (Broadway) and Colorado Highway 145 in Cortez.
The new signal cabinets will provide an uninterrupted power source through a battery backup as well as the option for fiber-optic upgrades in the future. CDOT crews will work on the cabinet from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in March. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane in all directions and drivers should expect short delays. Work will be underway at these locations in the near future: Main Street and Market, Main Street and Chestnut and Main Street and Maple.
