Trails 2000 is seeking an individual to serve on the board of directors.
Trails 2000’s mission is to plan, build and maintain the urban interface trail network, educate trail users and encourage connectivity on roads, paths and trails.

Durango Bird Club to host walk
A bird walk will be hosted by the Durango Bird Club at 9 a.m. Wednesday at For the Birds, 1560 East Second Ave.
The walks last about one hour and 15 minutes. Bring binoculars. The walks are free, but donations to the hosting group are welcome.

Marvel Grange to host potluck supper
Marvel Grange will host a potluck supper at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the grange hall, 217 County Road 133A in Marvel to honor an outstanding community citizen and an outstanding Granger.
Everyone is invited to bring a dish of food to share to honor individuals in the community.
Games will be played after the awards presentation.
Residents reminded to store garbage
The city of Durango reminds residents to store trash and recycling containers in a manner that prevents wildlife access.
On designated garbage and recycling collection days, containers cannot be placed out for collection before 6 a.m. and must be out of public rights-of-way by 8 p.m.
If garbage is scattered because of wildlife, residents and businesses will receive a courtesy warning violation. Within 24 hours of the violation, residents and businesses are required to:
Store garbage in a secure location.
Lease a city-provided wildlife-resistant trash container for $4 per month or obtain a wildlife-resistant metal dumpster. For more information, call 375-5004.
Abide by the time and placement requirements.
Failure to correct the initial violation within 24 hours may result in a fine.

Florida Grange to host family dance
Florida Grange, 656 Colorado Highway 172, will host a free family dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday .
There will be karaoke and a DJ from Windwolf Productions.
Scholarships, loans available to women
“Girls’ Fun-ding Night Out,” an open house showcasing educational scholarships and loans for women, will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Durango Public Library in Program Room 1, 1900 East Third Ave.
Local chapters of the PEO Sisterhood will sponsor the event, at which participants can learn about a variety of opportunities. The Women’s Resource Center scholarship also will be presented. Refreshments will be available.
