U.S. 160/550 project update
Colorado Department of Transportation and Concrete Works of Colorado, Inc. will work on the College Drive/Camino del Rio intersection as well as remove the center median on U.S. Highway 550 from College Drive to 8th Street the week of April 27.
During that week, travelers should consider alternate routes for those heading south on U.S. 550 and wanting to turn left onto College Drive, as the left-turn lane will be closed most of the week. To minimize the amount of time the left-turn lane will be closed, crews will be working from 6 to 10 p.m. today with anticipated one-lane closures in both directions on U.S. 550.
These traffic impacts are expected:
The U.S. Highway 160/550 Intersection to Eighth Street will have wide load restrictions of 10 feet through the work zone, which will begin at 8:30 a.m. Monday. The restrictions will be in place for two weeks, Monday through Friday, ending the week of May 12. Weekend restrictions are not anticipated.
Sidewalk detours and temporary closures are expected along College Drive. The left turn lane onto College Drive heading southbound on U.S. 550/Camino del Rio will be closed for most of the week.
On U.S. 160/550, two lanes in each direction of travel will remain open before 8:30 a.m. and after 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and after 2 p.m. on Fridays.
On U.S. 160/550, single-lane closures will take place between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
On U.S. 160/550, travelers should expect single-lane closures from 6 to 10 p.m. today.
Single-lane closures may be in effect at any time during the day on U.S. 160/550 turn lanes and side streets.
Travel delays will vary.
