Yellow Jacket road work to take place
Crews will be sealing highway cracks from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. through Thursday on Yellow Jacket Pass on U.S. Highway 160.
This is a three-lane road, so crews will close only one lane at a time, keeping two lanes of traffic flowing freely. The speed limit will be reduced from 60 mph to 40 mph, so drivers can expect minor travel delays.

U.S. Highway 550/160 road-work update
Vehicles traveling northbound on Camino del Rio between 7th and 8th streets will see the beginning of what will be a new pedestrian refuge.
The raised, 20-inch, curbed medians will provide a place of safety midway through the crossing area. Two signal buttons will allow pedestrians to cross only two lanes at a time. Improvements also are being made for bicycle traffic as well. After Memorial Day Weekend, crews will move south to the U.S. Highway 550/160 intersection.
There are no anticipated lane closures in the business section on Camino del Rio between 9th Street and College Drive after the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend.
Through Friday, College Drive will have one-lane access from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. because of lane striping and inlaid traffic markings.
Two lanes in each direction of travel will remain open during peak hours on U.S. Highway 550/160 before 8:30 a.m. and after 4:30 p.m., seven days a week.
For more information, call (970) 238-1669.
Road work continues on Dolores bridge
Road work continues on Colorado Highway 145 on the Dolores River Bridge.
The project extends from the junction with U.S. Highway 160 in Cortez over the bridge. The project will accomplish the following: resurface the roadway, provide a leveling course to smooth the surface and correct rough roadway; patch and improve drainage in damaged areas; rehabilitate the bridge deck, including weather-proofing and new bridge rail; correct the curve at County Road P; and install ADA ramps at sidewalks on Colorado Highway 145 in Cortez.
The project is scheduled for completion in late August. Work continues at the bridge, and traffic is still in a single-lane, alternating configuration 24/7 controlled with temporary signal. This is likely to last through May. As the patching and repairs continue along the corridor in preparation for asphalt resurfacing, there will be single-lane, alternating traffic, between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Work on intersection near Pagosa continues
Work is progressing on the road project to improve the intersection of U.S. Highway 160 at Hurt Drive and Badger Road, in the Aspen Springs subdivision area west of Pagosa Springs.
To facilitate highway widening on the north side of the highway, crews will be conducting some brief rock blasting operations at 7 p.m. Thursday. It is expected that U.S. Highway 160 will be fully closed in both directions until 7:30 p.m., with travel delays beyond 7:30 p.m. as crews work to clear traffic queues.
The project completion date is set for late September. The intersection improvements include minor highway widening to accommodate: left-turn lanes off U.S. 160 onto both Hurt Drive and Badger Road; right-turn deceleration lanes from U.S. 160 to both drives; and right-turn acceleration lanes from both drives onto U.S. 160. The work also includes resurfacing on U.S. 160 between mile posts 131 and 134.5; highway shoulder improvements; slope flattening to improve sight distance for drivers and cyclists; and a section of new guardrail.
