The Colorado State Board of Land Commissioners (State Land Board) will meet Thursday and Friday at Durango DoubleTree Hotel, 501 Camino del Rio.
A workshop and local government roundtable will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday. The board meeting will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday. On Friday morning, the board will hear presentations regarding the Old Fort at Hesperus and tour the property. The public is invited to attend, and public comment is welcome at the beginning of the meeting.
The board was established to manage more than 3 million acres of land and 4 million acres of mineral rights that the federal government granted to Colorado. The board is a five person citizen group representing education, agriculture, local government and natural resources, plus one citizen-at-large commissioner.

Habitat to host build in Bayfield
Habitat for Humanity will host a build called “Love Out Loud” at 8:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday at 620 Fox Farm Circle in Bayfield.
Lunch will be provided both days. Participants will build walls for a single family one-story residence. Bring work gloves, water bottles, sturdy shoes and wear long pants. Everyone is welcome, and experience not is necessary.

Young Professionals to paint Saturday
Angie Beach, executive director of Music in the Mountains, developed the idea for June’s Business After Hours: combining graffiti art and classical music.
Painting will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday two weeks before the Business After Hours event on June 19. The Young Professionals of Durango, and everyone interested in helping, will use balloons and mop buckets filled with paint to cover the walls of the warehouse building on the corner of East Second Avenue and College Drive. Pizza will be provided by J. Bo’s and beer by Ska Brewing Co. The cost is $10 for nonmembers and is free for Young Professionals of Durango members.

San Juan Water Commission to meet
The San Juan Water Commission will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the San Juan Water Commission’s Conference Room in the San Juan Water Commission Office Building, 7450 East Main St. in Farmington.
