Mancos library to offer teen program

The Mancos Public Library will host a teen program for ages 13 to 19 from 7 to 10 p.m. Fridays starting Friday in the library’s community meeting room, 211 West First St. in Mancos.

First-time visitors must show proof of age and acquire a valid library card. Activities will include PS 4, X Box One, Wii, other activities and snacks.

The Friends of the Pine River Library will hold their annual “Best of the Best” book sale from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the library’s community room, 395 Bayfield Center Drive in Bayfield.

Pilates instructor to offer instruction

Certified Pilates instructor Elaine Labach will teach about the different muscle groups and body parts and the exercises each area needs at 4 p.m. every Monday through July 21 at the Pine River Library, 395 Bayfield Center Drive in Bayfield.

Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing, as Labach leads the group through exercises. Mats will be provided. Advance registration is required.

Nonprofit to offer karate lessons

International Shotokan Karate Federation of Durango, a nonprofit organization, will present “Defensible Space” Shotokan karate lessons from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at the Durango Sports Club, 1600 Florida Road.

The lessons are taught by International Shotokan Karate Federation 4th Dan, Bill Thurman. Twelve lessons are available for $50 and includes the use of the locker room and showers.
