The Summer Reading Program will continue with “Are You Curious?: Einstein and the Five Senses” at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
A Virtual Pro Se Legal Clinic will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday. Free legal advice via computer link is available to anyone without an attorney. Sign-up is requested.
A fly tying workshop titled “Terrestrial Patterns” will take place at noon June 21. This class will focus on tying terrestrial patterns. Sign-up is requested.
An introduction to fused glass will take place at 5:30 p.m. June 24. The class is open for kids ages 12-18. Children will use pre-fused puddles, dots and stringers to decorate a square plaque. There will be a $10 material fee. Sign-up is requested.
An introduction to fused glass for adults will take place at 5:30 p.m. June 26. Participants will learn the basics of fused glass, and will use pre-cut, puddles, dots, stringers and confetti glass to decorate a small square bowl. Sign-up is required, and there will be a $10 materials fee.

Republican Women announce speaker series
Southwest Republican Women will host its Summer Speaker Series featuring nationally acclaimed women addressing members and guests at these luncheons at noon at the DoubleTree Hotel, 501 Camino del Rio:
Laura Carno on “Politicians Are Not Kings” on June 17.
Debora Georgatos on “Ladies, Can We Talk?” followed by a 90-minute workshop titled “Politically Speaking” on July 15.
Toni Anne Dashiell on “Leading for Freedom,” followed by a 90-minute workshop on Aug. 19.

Free essential oils class available for everyone
Durango Olive Oil Company, 640 Main Ave., will host a free essential oils class from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Participants will learn about the benefits of essential oils for digestive issues, sleep issues, energy, muscle aches and pains and more. There will be a free essential oil gift for everyone that attends.
Forest health monitoring to be discussed
San Juan Headwaters Forest Health Partnership and Mountain Studies Institute will offer an opportunity to learn how to measure the health of a forest and relate monitoring to wildlife presence or absence from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 14 at Cloman Park in Pagosa Springs.
Participants will join experts in the field, participate in hands-on monitoring techniques and learn about how changes in forest influence wildlife.

Beekeeping to be discussed June 19
The Mancos Public Library, 211 First St., will present a program about beehives and beekeeping at 6 p.m. June 19.
This program will explore the current plight of bees including theories about Colony Collapse Disorder, the importance of bees as pollinators, the ways to support the survival of bees and different types of backyard beehives. Participants can view the new colony of bees residing in a hive outside the library. Paula Nelson, president of the Four Corners Beekeepers Association and Barry Livingston, professional custom carpenter will speak about beekeeping and the basic principles of building and maintaining a healthy hive.

Beekeepers group to meet at June 16
The 4 Corners Beekeepers will meet at 6 p.m. June 16 at the Florida Baptist Church located on the corner of U.S. Highway 160 and Colorado Highway 172.
Danny Culhane from Honeyville will be the guest speaker. Information also will be shared about the State Beekeepers Spring meeting in Silt, Colorado.
