A free screening of the documentary “The New Black” will take place at 6 p.m. June 18 at the Powerhouse Science Center, 1333 Camino del Rio.
The documentary follows the African-American community as it grapples with gay rights. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
The screening will be followed by a community discussion led by members of 4cGLAD (Four Corners Gay and Lesbian Alliance for Diversity). Refreshments will be available.
Pride festival to host picnic
The Four Corners Pride Festival will be held from June 18 to 22.
The annual Family and Friends Pride Picnic will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 21 in Rotary Park. The festival brings together LGBTQ people and straight allies during the celebration. The annual Family and Friends Picnic will feature keynote speaker, city of Durango Mayor Sweetie Marbury.

Internet class to be held June 19
A “Computer Basics: Internet” class will take place from 1:30 to 3 p.m. June 19 at the Mancos Public Library, 211 E. First St. in Mancos.
Participants with no prior computer experience will learn to use the Chrome web browser and basic Google search skills. Participants will learn about the search options, how to phrase their searches for success and will visit several searchable websites. Preregistration is encouraged. Laptop computers will be provided.
