The San Juan Basin Archaeological Society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at Center of Southwest Studies at Fort Lewis College.
Eric Blinman, director of the Museum of New Mexico’s Office of Archaeological Studies, will present “2,000 Years of Climate Change and Human Response in the Southwest.”
The public is invited.
Kiwanis Club to meet Thursday
The Kiwanis Club of Durango will welcome Elizabeth Silverstein the director of STEM Internship Programs to speak to the club at noon Thursday at the Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave.
She will talk about meaningful workforce development skills for high school students. Visitors are welcome.

Senior center announces classes
The Durango/La Plata Senior Center, 2424 Main Ave., will offer these classes:
Basic manners dog training classes will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. each Tuesday. The first class is today. The cost is $20. Dog training on the Animas River Trail will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. each Thursday in July. The first class is Thursday. The cost is $20.
Computer classes taught by Jon Cordalis will take place from 9 a.m. to noon. The cost per class is $15. Classes will include “Digital Photos” on July 15, “iPad” on July 16 and “Ecommerce” on July 17. The deadline to sign-up is Friday.

Florida Grange to host breakfast
The Florida Grange, 656 Colorado Highway 172, will host its monthly summer free breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday.
