The city of Durango will host a public information meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the council chambers of City Hall, 949 East Second Ave.

This meeting will focus on the application process for existing accessory dwelling units. Accessory dwelling units may be allowed as a major accessory use to single-family detached dwelling units by limited-use review according to the standards of Land Use and Development Code Section 2-3-2-3.

Topics for discussion will include an overview of the limited use permit application process, the voluntary application phase with incentives to apply between Aug. 1 and Dec. 31 and proactive systematic enforcement for units that are not voluntarily applied for and are discovered after Jan. 1.

Southwest Studies continues lecture series

Center of Southwest Studies at Fort Lewis College will continue its summer lecture series Wednesday.

The lectures will be offered roughly every other week on Wednesdays at 1:30 p.m. in the Center of Soutwest Studies Lyceum Room. On Wednesday, Bob Griffith will present “1964 – 50 Years and Counting: Examining the Musical and Cultural Wheels of Change.”

Griffith is a former Los Angeles radio broadcaster with 31 years in the business. He now resides in Durango.

Daybreak Rotatory to meet Wednesday

The Daybreak Rotarians will learn the ins and outs of Facebook and website information available to them as members at their meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave.

Ignacio library announces classes

The Ignacio Community Library, 470 Goddard Ave., will host these classes:

Internet Basics will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday. Participants will learn the basics of getting around online. The class will cover some on the basic functions of internet browsers, how to stay secure as well as some tips and tricks to make surfing the web easier.

“All About Blogs!” will take place at 6 p.m. July 31. Participants will learn what a blog is, how to subscribe to one and how to begin developing, writing, and promoting.

High Noon Rotary to meet Thursday

The High Noon Rotary Club will meet from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the DoubleTree Hotel, 501 Camino del Rio.
