The La Plata County Humane Society will host a Puppy Play Party and Dog Happy Hour from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the play yard. Shade and water will be provided. Dog-behavior specialists will be on site to answer any questions about your dog’s behavior. Come and let your puppy or dog run, play and get great socialization in a fun and safe environment. Bring up-to-date shot records for your dog.

Benefit for Multiple Sclerosis Society Aug. 9

The second annual Metal Heads Against MS will be held Aug. 9. The benefit run starts at Cole’s Chop Shop, 2497 Main Ave., at 11 a.m., with the last bike out at 12:30 p.m.

A bike show will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Veterans of Foreign Wars, 1550 Main Ave. A silent auction will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. There will be live music from 3 p.m. to midnight. After 5 p.m., there will be a $5 cover charge.

The event is open to the public. All ages are welcome.

This event will benefit the Colorado/Wyoming Chapter of The National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
