Road work will take place on Red Mountain Pass from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Thursday.
Work will include building up and reinforcing shoulders using recycled dirt material. There will be single-lane, alternating traffic and some delays. Crews also will replace a culvert at mile post 84.4.

Work at 550/160 intersection this week
The Colorado Department of Transportation and contractor Concrete Works of Colorado will be installing the final signal and completing road-striping configurations on the U.S. Highway 550/160 continuous-flow intersection project.
The temporary 8-foot lanes currently in place on U.S. 160 will be reconfigured to 11 feet in the final phase of construction.
Through Friday, these travel impacts can be expected:
Evening work is anticipated after 6:30 p.m. all week.
Median and single-lane closures and two-lane shifts on U.S. 550/160 can be expected throughout the week in all directions from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., after 6:30 p.m. on weekdays and anytime on the weekend.
On U.S. 160, from the Tech Center to the intersection, travelers can expect lane, median and turn-lane closures westbound anytime. Eastbound single-lane closures can be expected from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., after 6:30 p.m. weekdays as well as anytime on the weekend.
Expect northbound lane closures on Roosa Avenue during day and evening hours. There will be no left turns from eastbound U.S. 160 onto Roosa.

Crews to work on roads within Cortez city limits
Colorado Department of Transportation contractor Skanska Civil USA West’s Rocky Mountain District, Inc., has completed pavement milling within the Cortez city limits portion of the work zone on Colorado Highway 145.
Crews will start paving to mile-marker 1.4 and, paving in the city limits will be completed Friday, weather permitting. Cross traffic from side streets and dwellings will be limited to emergency access only for up to 1.5 hours after paving.
After the completion of paving in the city limits, crews will begin paving the entire stretch of Colorado Highway 145 to the Dolores River Bridge. The project is scheduled for completion by late August. Drivers can expect single-lane, alternating traffic, between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., reduced speeds and delays of up to 15 minutes.

4-H members to host a barbecue cook-off
The 4-H Barbecue Cook-Off will take place from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday on the west lawn of the Durango/La Plata Senior Center, 2424 Main Ave.
Tickets at the door are $10, and advance tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for seniors and children. Tickets are available at the La Plata County Extension Office or from 4-H members. All proceeds will be used to benefit the La Plata County 4-H program.
