A StoryWalk put together by volunteers from San Juan Mountains Association will be offered through Sunday along the Animas River Trail just outside Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.
My Water Comes from the San Juan Mountains describes the watershed of the San Juan Mountains, from the mountain peaks to river valleys, going through the water cycle along the way. Illustrations accompany the educational text.
My Water Comes from the San Juan Mountains, was written by Tiffany Fourment, Koren Nydick, Gary Gianiny, and Mary Ann Goff and illustrated by Dorothy Emerling.
The StoryWalk Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle and Pedestrian Coalition and the Kellogg Hubbard Library.

Crotchet group to meet in Mancos
Kathy Graf will lead a new crotchet group at 6 p.m. the first and third Tuesdays of each month at the Mancos Public Library, 211 West First St., Mancos.
Upcoming sessions are scheduled for Tuesday and Oct. 21, Nov. 4 and 18, and Dec. 2 and 16. Teens and adults are welcome. This is a free program. Limited supplies of crochet hooks and yarn are available. Participants are invited to bring their own.

Writers and Scribblers will meet from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Pine River Valley Bank in Durango, 1701 Main Ave.

Library to host computer classes
The Pine River Library will offer these computer and tablet classes:
“Beginner’s Computer Class” will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday. People will learn the basics of using a personal computer. Taught by Tim Lovejoy.
“Tablet Time: iPads” will take place from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Oct. 15. Participants will learn how to use their iPad. The tips and tricks for all iPads will be discussed. Taught by Amy Dodson.
“Tablet Time: Android Devices” will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 23. Participants will learn how to use their Android-based tablet. Android tablets include the Kindle Fire, Sony devices, Google Nexus, Samsung Galaxy and more. Taught by Elizabeth von Tauffkirchen.
“Beginning MS Word” will take place from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Nov. 4. Participants will learn how to use Microsoft Word. This class will focus on the basics of using MS Word. Taught by Amy Dodson.
All of the classes are free, but advanced registration is required.

Ignacio library to offer youth programs
The Ignacio Community Library, 470 Goddard Ave., will host activities at 2 p.m. every Wednesday for children ages 9-12.
Upcoming activities will include Minute-To-Win-It games on Wednesday, Lego science on Oct. 15, Monster Mash on Oct. 22 and Wii Party on Oct. 29.

Animas Museum to host breakfast
The Animas Museum will hold a chuckwagon breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m. Saturday at the museum, 3065 West Second Ave.
A cowboy breakfast and coffee will be served by Harry Baxtrom and his chuckwagon crew. Tickets are $10, children 3 and younger are $3. Advance tickets may be purchased at the museum. The public is invited, and proceeds will benefit the museum.
There also will be a presentation by Marsha Bankston called “Lizzy Knight: From English Blacksmith to Colorado Ranch Woman.”
