A free screening of the investigative fracking documentary, “Triple Divide,” will take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Mancos Public Library, 211 West First St. in Mancos.
The screening will be moderated by a representative of Earthworks, Lyn Patrick, and Joanie Trussel of Frack Free Montezuma. Triple Divide is three-year investigation by Public Herald journalists Joshua Pribanic and Melissa Troutman, who researched government and industry data in addition to gathering firsthand testimony from lease holders and citizens. Actor Mark Ruffalo co-narrates.

Allison grange to host Harvest Supper
The annual Harvest Supper will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Mt. Allison Grange, County Road 329 in Allison.
The supper will include ham, beef and all the trimmings including homemade rolls and pies. The cost is $10 for adults, $4 for children 6 to 12, and free for children younger than 6.
Chili supper to be held in Arboles
The Tiffany Allison Rosa Arboles (TARA) annual Chili Supper will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 30 at the TARA Community Center, 333 Milton Lane in Arboles.
The cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children 6-12, and free for children younger than 6. There will be prizes for first and second places for the Peoples’ Choice winners.
Electrical power to be celebrated
A celebration of the men and the facilities that brought electrical power to Southwestern Colorado will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Powerhouse Science Center, 1333 Camino del Rio.
This event will include a showing of La Plata Electric Association trucks and equipment, a guided tour of the Powerhouse and author Esther Greenfield will give a presentation, answer questions and sign copies of her new book, Tough Men in Hard Places: A Photographic Collection.
