Mancos Library to host Halloween party
Mancos Public Library, 211 E. First St. in Mancos, will host “The Halloween Howl,” a pre-trick-or-treat party, from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday.
The library will provide mask-making supplies, face-painting, and turkey chili.

Kokanee salmon give-away to be in Dolores
Colorado Parks and Wildlife will give away kokanee salmon at 3 p.m. Thursday at Joe Rowell Park in Dolores.
Anyone wanting fish must hold a valid 2014 Colorado fishing license. The number of fish each person receives will be determined by the number of kokanee collected during the spawning run and the number of people who show up for the giveaway. People interested in receiving fish should bring a container. Most of the kokanee are from 9 to 11 inches in size. Kokanee are a freshwater, land-locked sockeye salmon.
