A Holiday Craft Fair will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 15 at the TARA (Tiffany, Allison, Rosa, Arboles) Community Center, 333 Milton Lane in Arboles.

There will be handmade crafts, jewelry, soaps, handmade knives, oil and watercolor paintings, birdhouses, homemade candy, holiday cards, furniture and more. A food vendor will have breakfast and lunch available for purchase.

Free coffee and pastries will be available.

Food drive set in Pagosa Springs

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers of La Plata Electric Association will host its annual “Fill the Bucket” food drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 15 at City Market in Pagosa Springs.

LPEA’s bucket truck and additional vehicles will be parked at City Market to collect nonperishable food items. Donated food will be distributed to community food banks in Archuleta County. Cash donations for the food banks also are welcomed, and donors can make arrangements to give directly by calling 749-0260 or bring a donation by the LPEA office in Pagosa Springs, 603 S. 8th St.

Checks can be made payable to the IBEW Local 111 Brotherhood Fund. All donated funds will be distributed to the food banks.

Event to aid winter sports foundation

Durango Mountain Resort and The Timbers at Edgmont Highlands, will present Alpenglow at Purgatory, a benefit for the Durango Winter Sports Foundation from 6 p.m. to midnight Nov. 15.

This is also the foundation’s Hall of Fame induction to honor the adaptive sports achievements of Dave Spencer (posthumously), Lana Jo Chapin and Mary Riddell.

The event includes dinner, specialty Tito’s Vodka cocktails, casino games and dancing plus live and silent auctions of ski, fitness, food and travel packages.

Tickets are $75 per person or $100 with $30 in casino chips.

Veterans event to take place Nov. 15

Veterans organizations from Archuleta, Montezuma and La Plata counties will host a Stand Down event for veterans from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 15 at the La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave.

Information, resources, hot meals, haircuts, showers and more will be provided to homeless veterans and any veteran who is having a difficult time readjusting to the civilian life.
