St. Paul’s Lutheran Preschool’s annual Enchilada Fundraiser is taking place. Choices are cheese or cheese and onion. The cost is $10 per dozen. The enchiladas are gluten-free.

Pick-up or delivery will take place Dec. 6. Proceeds will directly benefit area children attending the nonprofit St. Paul’s Lutheran Preschool, 2611 Junction St.

Salvation Army seeking bell-ringers

Salvation Army of La Plata County seeks bell-ringers for its Christmas campaign.

Two-hour slots are available at both City Market stores, Walmart, Durango Mall, Star Liquors, Walgreens and in Bayfield. Salvation Army helps local people with emergency needs. To make a donation that will stay in La Plata County, mail a check to P.O. Box 3296, Durango, CO 81301.

Santa to visit Durango Mall

Santa will visit the Durango Mall, 800 S. Camino del Rio, at 10 a.m. Friday. The Durango Protection District will transport Santa to the mall on one of its fire trucks. Parents and their children are encouraged to greet Santa.

Thanksgiving dinner to be served Thursday

The 28th annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave.

Turkey and trimmings will be served. The dinner is free, but donations will be accepted. To donate a pie for the dinner, drop it off at the fairgrounds on Thanksgiving morning.
