The first class will be “Healthy Eating: Tips to keep you balanced amidst holiday feasting” with Nicola St. Mary from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday in the Sun Room (No. 110) at Inhabit.
“Mindful Parenting: Mindful parenting for the holidays and beyond” with Rachel Turiel will take place from noon to 1 p.m. Friday in the Sun Room.
Donations will be accepted at the door for the Mercy Health Foundation to benefit the Hospice Residence. Water and tea will be provided.

Durango celebrates ‘Festival of Trees’
Community Connections’ “Festival of Trees” celebration, a local tradition benefiting people with developmental and intellectual disabilities, will take place from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday and Dec. 12-14 at the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Train Museum, 479 Main Ave. People should enter through the train station.
The event will feature entertainment and chances to win one of the decorated trees and gift assortments.
Trails 2000 perks kick off Noel Night

Karyn Gabaldon Arts will host a food drive for the Durango Food Bank through Dec. 25.

Negotiations begin for ALP water project
Reclamation’s Western Colorado Area Office will initiate negotiations with the Southern Ute Indian Tribe on a proposed contract for the tribe’s statutory water allocation of the Animas-La Plata Project.
The first negotiation meeting will take place at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave. The contract to be negotiated will provide for delivery and storage of project water and will outline the conditions and terms of operation and maintenance payments for the project.
All negotiations are open to the public as observers, and the public will have the opportunity to ask questions and offer comments during a 30-minute comment period after the negotiation session.
