Road Runner Transit has made changes in its 2015 schedule which will take effect Monday.

The Ignacio to Durango route has been increased to five runs per day, with an additional run beginning at 2:25 p.m. in Ignacio. The Bayfield to Durango route has been reduced to three runs per day. The Ignacio-to-Aztec schedule has not changed. Schedule changes are based on funding changes for 2015.

Support group for Parkinson’s to meet

The Durango Parkinson’s Disease Support and Education Group will meet from 1 to 2 p.m. the third Thursday of every month at First United Methodist Church.

The next meeting will be Thursday, and the guest speaker will be Parkinson’s Disease expert John M. Dean.

Do’s and Don’ts tickets to go on sale

Snowdown Fashion Do’s & Don’ts ticket sales will begin at 6 a.m. Jan. 17 at Magpie’s Newsstand, 707 Main Ave.

The line forms early, and this event sells out quickly. Tickets are limited to four per person. The cost is $15 for regular seating and $20 for runway seating. The cost will include a meal. Standing-room-only tickets cost $6 and are limited to the first 125 people. All proceeds will benefit Snowdown Durango, a nonprofit organization. Pre-show entertainment, provided by Dave Mensch, will begin at 11:15 a.m., along with a cash bar. Prizes will be awarded for the Best Dressed, Worst Dressed, Funniest Costume, Best Theme and The Grand Prize.

Soup & Soul event to be held Jan. 17

Soup & Soul, an event honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Jan. 17 at Manna Soup Kitchen, 1100 Avenida del Sol.

The dinner will feature soups, stews, chili, salads and desserts. Participants are asked to bring a dish to share. Beer and wine will be available. This is a fundraiser for La Plata Democrats and Manna. Suggested donations are $10. Students’ suggested donations are $5, and children 15 and younger are free.

There also will be a fundraiser for MLK Day of Service to benefit Manna Soup Kitchen, for which there is a suggested donation of cash and nonperishable foods for Manna.
