Locals Benefit Day at Durango Mountain Resort will be held Sunday.
DMR hosts four Locals Benefit Days as part of its community outreach program. A portion of lift-ticket sales benefit local nonprofit organizations, including the Second Wind Fund, Adult Day Care at Our Place, Durango Early Learning Center and Durango Education Center.
Discounted lift tickets are available Sunday with a coupon for $45 adults (18-64); $32 teens (ages 13-17); $25 kids (6-12 years); and $35 seniors (65 and older).
People can purchase a Locals Benefit Day Punch Pass for $125 in the Durango Mountain Resort Bodo Office or in the ticket office on the mountain.
A coupon must be presented at the ticket window for the benefit day discount.

Representatives from all four organizations will be available in the plaza.
Workshop to address new beginnings
Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave., will host Liza Tregillus from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. Jan. 21 as she presents “Restless Life Syndrome: A Workshop for Individuals Considering Change in the New Year.”
This workshop will offer participants an opportunity to reflect and share ideas and experiences. Tregillus is a local play therapist and adventurer.

High Noon Rotary to host doctor
The Durango High Noon Rotary Club will meet from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the DoubleTree Hotel, 501 Camino del Rio.
The meetings are open to the public. The cost for lunch is $15.
Dr. Richard Grossman will give a talk called “Population Issues.”
District forester to speak Wednesday
The Garden Club of Durango will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the San Juan Public Lands Center, 15 Burnett Court.
Kent Grant, Durango District forester, will explain the complex phenomenon of forest die-off occurring in the national forests.
