The Hisatsinom Chapter of the Colorado Archaeology Society will present Becca Simon at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Methodist Church, 515 Park St., Cortez.
Simon will discuss “How to Clean a Soiled Dove REMIX: Developing 4th-Grade Curriculum with the Vanoli Site (5OR30).” She will discuss the Vanoli Sporting Complex (5OR30), the red-light district in Ouray circa 1881-1916 and data from archaeological research on the site that was used to create a fourth-grade social studies unit for teachers to teach skills and topics emphasized in the Colorado Academic Standards.

900 block of alley on Main to be closed
The city of Durango is working with FCI Constructors Inc. to build a new drainage in the alley in the 900 block between Main and East Second avenues.
For the safety of the public, from Wednesday to Feb. 20, the alley will be closed to pedestrians and vehicles during working hours. FCI Constructors and the city of Durango will coordinate with business owners to arrange business deliveries and trash pickup.

Spring Job Fair at FLC is Wednesday
The Spring Job Fair at Fort Lewis College will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Student Union Ballroom.
The fair is free and open to the public. More than 30 local, regional and national employers will be on hand. Attendees should prepare to be hired that same day, so bring a résumé and wear professional dress. In addition to job-hunting, other career-oriented services will be available, such as résumé reviews and mock interviews.

Community tourism briefing to be held
New, existing and potential business owners are invited to attend a community tourism briefing from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.

Man to Man Prostate to meet Tuesday
The Man to Man Prostate Support Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.
Dr. David Sisul, urologist at Mercy Regional Medical Center, will address prostate issues and discuss the DaVinci Robotic surgical procedure. People with prostate concerns are encouraged to attend.
