The Big Meeting at Crow Canyon will take place March 6.
The biannual gathering of archaeologists and researchers working in the Four Corners is an opportunity to share recent research with colleagues.
Presentation submissions are due Wednesday.
To secure a spot, send the presentation title, subject matter and list of authors to Susan Ryan at [email protected]. The meeting registration fee is $18.
Lunch will be available in Crow Canyon’s dining hall for $10, or participants may bring their own lunch. Fees will be collected at registration, but reservations are due Feb. 27.
Registration will take place from 8:30 to 9 a.m. at the Gates Building at Crow Canyon Archaeological Center, 23390 County Road K, in Cortez. Presentations will run from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. Each presentation will be 10 minutes long, followed by five minutes of questions. Posters also are welcome. A reception will follow presentations from 5 to 6 p.m.

High Noon Rotary Club to meet Thursday
The Durango High Noon Rotary Club will meet from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the DoubelTree Hotel, 501 Camino del Rio.
The cost for lunch is $15. Stephanie Allred and Ellen Stein of Axis Health will speak about serving the Southwest Colorado region.
Useful weeds to be discussed in Mancos
The Mancos Public Library, 211 W. First St., will host a presentation with local author Katrina Blair and Jaime Becktel about “The Wild Wisdom of Weeds” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Blair along with Becktel, a Mancos artist, will present a slideshow of the 13 essential plants for human survival featured in the new book, The Wild Wisdom of Weeds. Blair will share edible treats made from recipes in the book. Becktel will speak about rendering the botanical drawings for the book.

Spiritual preservation center discussed
A gathering to originate the Heart of the World Spiritual Preservation Center in the Four Corners region will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.
This gathering will inform the community about the unification process. This process establishes a foundation for the birthing of a Spiritual Preservation Center.
The goal is to recover a tract of land in this region and to create The Heart of the World Spiritual Preserve that embodies the four pillars.
