The “Man to Man” prostate cancer support group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.

The meeting will be in the second-floor meeting room.

At the meeting, a member who has been recently diagnosed with prostate cancer will present his findings on the “Watchful Waiting” program.

Anyone with an interest in prostate cancer and its treatments is welcomed.

Senior Center to offer Tai Chi classes

The Durango/La Plata Senior Center will offer beginning and intermediate Tai Chi classes beginning in March.

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese tradition that is used as a form of exercise.

Tai Chi promotes serenity through gentle, flowing movements. It can help improve balance and lessen health issues such as diabetes, osteoporosis and arthritis.

The cost is $3 per session or $20 for a month (eight classes). Beginning classes will be held at 9:15 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Intermediate classes will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays and Fridays.

Ignacio library offers ’tween program

The Ignacio Community Library, 470 Goddard Ave., hosts a ’tween program for ages 9-12 at 2:15 p.m. every Wednesday.

These activities will be offered in March:

Duct Tape Creation will take place Wednesday.

Minute to Win-it will take place March 11.

A cooking class will take place March 18.

Zentangle will take place March 25.

Rotarians to hear about African trip

Chris Hardwick, an engineering physics graduate from Fort Lewis College, will speak to the Daybreak Rotary Club at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday at Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave.

Hardwick recently returned from a trip to northern Uganda, where he had the opportunity to learn about design and construction practices in a majority-world context.

Working with a team of architects and engineers, he helped implement design practices that will help shift the region toward better construction practices through education and taking advantage of local resources with more efficient application methods.

‘Free Kids Yoga’ class the first Wednesday

“Free Kids Yoga” for children ages 3 to 7 with Joy Kilpatrick will take place from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at Pediatric Associates of Durango, 1199 Main Ave., Suite 205.
