Paving on 160 in Bayfield will last through Friday
Colorado Department of Transportation contractor Old Castle Southwest, Inc., began a project Monday on U.S. Highway 160 from mile post 103 in Bayfield east to mile post 117, at the bottom of Yellow Jacket Pass.
The project involves deep-patch pavement repair followed by asphalt resurfacing. The work also will include the installation of a new guardrail. Work will be done Monday through Friday, with hours changing as summer progresses – from 30 minutes after sunrise to 30 minutes before sunset. Motorists should expect 15-minute delays and single-lane, alternating traffic through the work zone.

Roadwork to begin Tuesday on 160/550 interchange
The Colorado Department of Transportation has contracted with Roadsafe Traffic Systems to replace pavement markings Tuesday on U.S. Highway 160, west of the continuous flow intersection in Durango, for bike lanes on a two-mile section of highway.
The project involves pavement grinding, then placing inlaid reflective tape for markings and striping. The pavement markings assist drivers in seeing where passing lanes end and where turn lanes begin. The work will take two to three days.
