Get your green thumb at gardening class
Native Roots Garden Center will host a free cold-frame and greenhouse gardening class at noon Saturday at the center, 26266 U.S. Highway 160.
Participants will learn about various cold-frame and greenhouse structures, as well as how to garden within a structure. The class will last about one hour.

Inhabit your mind with mindfulness
The Essence of Mindfulness lunchtime introduction will take place from noon to 1 p.m. Friday at Inhabit, 1970 East Third Ave., with mindfulness teacher John Bruna, co-founder of the Mindful Life Program.
Participants will learn about the holistic practice of mindfulness that includes more than present-moment awareness. Bruna also will teach a weekend workshop, The Mindful Life Program Foundations Course, on Saturday and Sunday at Inhabit.

Annual Easter Supper open to everyone
The Mt. Allison Grange will host its annual Easter Supper on April 4.
Dinner will be served between 5 and 7 p.m., with a dessert auction benefitting the Junior Grange to follow. Meal tickets are available at the door for $10.50 for adults and $4 for children 6 to 12 years. The menu will consist of ham, turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, hot rolls, tossed salad, homemade pie, coffee and punch.

Eat dinner, watch film about permaculture
“Dinner and A Movie Night” with The Permaculture Provision Project and The Fort Lewis Environmental Center will take place April 4 in the Vallecito Room of the Fort Lewis College Student Union.
Short films about permaculture will be shown, and a curry dinner and spice cake will be served. Films will include excerpts of John D. Liu’s “Hope in a Changing Climate.” Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6 p.m. There is a suggested donation of $5 per person.

Easter Bunny invites you to Durango Mall
The Easter Bunny will visit the Durango Mall, 800 South Camino del Rio, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 4.
“Hop into Spring” is an annual spring event for community children younger than 10 that includes a “Hunt for the Golden Egg” scavenger hunt. All scavenger-hunt participants will receive a treat. This event also includes seeing the Easter Bunny and a coloring contest. People are asked to bring a nonperishable food item to support the food bank and enter a chance to win 1 of 10 gift cards every half hour.
Forms and crayons for the coloring contest will be provided. Prizes will be awarded for winners by age categories. Parents are encouraged to bring their cameras for photos with the Easter Bunny.
