The city plants a tree; you keep it alive
The city of Durango has developed a Tree Cost Share Program to assist homeowners in planting trees on their property in the public right-of-way.
The planting sites typically are located between the sidewalk and the curb of the street. The program pays half the cost to purchase and plant the tree. The city prunes the tree, and the homeowner is responsible for watering the tree and maintaining the ground cover in the right-of-way. There are several spots available for 2015 spring planting.
For more information, visit http://durangogov.org/treecostshare or call Greg Sykes at 375-7383.
